Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch Event
Glossop SNT (PCSO Buller) and 2 volunteers from the Hadfield Community Speed Watch Team completed an event on the A 626 Marple Rd, Charlesworth, this afternoon, Tuesday 23rd June - it was held between 1.45 pm and 2.45 pm. The speed limit on this road is 30 mph.
On this occasion 411 vehicles went by the team during the event, of those 7 were recorded driving above 35 mph. with the highest speed being recorded at 41 mph.
One of the local Policing Priorites for this area is in fact Speeding. This had been identified by local residents and councillors from Charlesworth on our Community Voice Surveys as an issue - it is a high risk road because of Speeding.
We'd like to say thank you to the community from Charlesworth for identifying their concerns re speeding, particularly at the above location and for their continued support in promoting road safety in the Charlesworth area.
Thank you and well done from Glossop SNT to the 2 volunteers who took part in the event today - It was a very hot and busy one for the team today.
And a special thank you to the 2 wonderful ladies from Marple Road, Charlesworth who kindly gave the team water on the hottest day of the year so far and gave their vocal support and thanks for the teams efforts - it was very much appreciated.
